Dry-sump oil pumps

Multi-stage dry-sump pumps, each one designed for the engine it goes on.

A four-stage pump, pulled apart so each stage's rotors show in their bore

How they're built

  • A spur-gear pressure stage and three-lobe Roots scavenge stages, on two shafts, stacked between plates.
  • As many scavenge stages as the engine needs, each sized to its job.
  • Designed per engine: every stage is checked for delivery with the oil hot, tip speed and running clearances before anything is cut.
  • Rotors cut on the wire EDM from exact geometry.
  • Oil passages run internally where the mounting allows, so there are fewer lines to plumb.
The pressure stage (spur gears) and a scavenge stage (Roots lobes), drawn from the design.

Sequential gearbox

A sequential dog box for high-power drift and race cars, designed and made here.

  • In-line sequential dog box: input and output on one axis, a layshaft below.
  • Straight-cut gears and face dogs, the tooth forms wire-cut from exact involutes.
  • Ratios, centre distance and clutch capacity chosen per car; every mesh, dog and shaft checked.
  • Its own dry-sump pump on the layshaft.
